2A worked together to make a blanket for a rescue dog on World Kindness Day. For each knot we tied to put the blanket together, the students shared one kind thing they have done for others.

2A pretended to be doctors for a day and did some contraction surgery! We discussed the formation of contractions by "cutting out" letters and putting an apostrophe to "bandage" the pieces together.
2A learned all about the Presidential Election Process. First we learned about political parties and the class split up into two parties. Then we learned about candidates and each party created their own candidate with the qualities they look for in leaders! They designed party platforms and wrote about what their candidate would do if elected. Then they campaigned for their candidate by making signs and bookmarks. We ended our unit with a class vote. Here are some student representatives from each party with their "I voted today!" stickers!
In Social Studies, we learned all about our location on Earth. We learned about our neighborhood, city, state, country, and continent. We used Google Maps to explore these places and then created books showing where we are in the world. Students had the opportunity to share their "Me on the Map" books with their classmates.
